and writings. She saw it simply, and advised not to ask questions that I have an answer to - just share what I have. It's easier even for the teacher to not have to be in student-teacher relationship, and okay to rest. Should the teacher ask what is your question, just say that I have none, just resting. She confirmed my ideas on final duality and suggested calling it Great Heart. She has sat with Shantimayi and Hans Maharajji. This discussion was very freeing. I told her I have recommended seekers stuck in their heads to see her and have their hearts opened.
Here is a 2008 satsang video:
Shawn gave her a 1 rating on spiritualteachers.org, with quite a caustic report. Paul Heddrman is one of his favorites. Enthralling, how different the journeys can look, despite moving toward and into the same place of awareness. Here's a link to his report on Pamela: http://www.spiritualteachers.org/pamela_wilson.htm
February 24: We went to see Pamela Wilson last night, in the Unitarian Church in Berkeley. It's on the satsang circuit, as I call it, same place as Dorothy and John's workshop,
same place Shantimayi shared teaching of truth in 2000, and the place that many realized and wise ones go to teach. There was a great big heart there, and it was easy to relax into during meditation. About 40 people, and nice unhurried dialogue. She mentioned something about tension and pleasure, that she had never had the two together. I couldn't help but take the microphone and share my experience with competition, especially sports, bringing me the experienced of the two together many times. I did an analysis: competition brings tension, then pleasure along with it, especially when one wins. Then after the win there is relaxation, then tension builds again for the next competition. It's okay when you win, but if you lose, there is no relaxation. That is what can make someone jump off a bridge, or get a heart attack, i said. When I described that winning could be without tension, and that this would be playing, she smiled and seemed very interested. She made comments. I added that when one is really playing, losing or winning doesn't matter. It's all conditioning that we have to win, and part of our society. I ended up asking about letting go of the competitiveness so much that we don't even want to work or be productive. How is it that we can keep from being put out on the street? Is it a matter of faith and trust? She doesn't think about those. It is simply by reacting to the moment, and things get done. Aha, i thought. I thought that i had heard about that, and knew it. It is refreshing to hear this, i told her. Thank you. the dynamics of my interaction with Pamela went through my mind, and i could visualize how she reacted in each moment as we discussed. I passed the microphone to the last questioner, who shared a story about how recently he had no thinking for several days, claiming the experience of nonduality, going on to describe very clearly an episode of empty awareness. (Just like the one i had in India in 1998 when i came home and got rid of all my books). When he was done i knew it was only nonduality in the sense of current concepts, not truly, because there was no reference to fullness, or heart, or love. She explored this with him, but didn't reference the heart. Isn't she holding him back? i thought. Probably not, the heart is here, he must be able to feel it, a silent transmission, the right place to be right now. No getting stuck for 20 or 30 years i hoped. The other two questioners shared old emotional problems. and Pamela became in essence an enlightened therapist. I don't have patience for emotional processing, having cleared mine years ago, not that I don't get emotional, just that I can process it on my own, and quickly. Same stories, same problems, but they shouldn't burden a spiritual teaching. But this teacher is patient, sincere, authentic, and loving. It's a good place to be if one is missing the flow of the Great Heart. If one has heart fullness, and empty awareness hasn't been revealed, then consider a different way to realize that?
Several satsangs with dialog, 1 private session, interview in "Conversations on Non-Duality."
