Jon Bernie - just let go

I had a phone session to discuss my Final Duality site with Jon, and gained several insights. He asked why I care if people are getting stuck, and I shared
that it was coming from my unfoldment and is what happens when I get out of my own way. He was surprised I'm a doctor - shared about other doctors - his own experience with healing, Alexander technique, etc. His mother legalized acupuncture in the U.S. from China. His story is detailed and on his website. He has enjoyed my presence at his satsangs, and we agree to continue to communicate and get more familiar. My site Final Duality is not seen as anything unique, but he agrees both fullness and emptiness is necessary.
Addendum 3/26: Dialog at satsang with Jon today, asked about fear and desire and their relationship to awakening, referred to his book Ecology of Consciousness and his metaphor that he made type A look catatonic when he was seeking. He asked me what I thought. His answer wasn't forthcoming of a deeper analysis, but I will review it after the audio file is posted. He runs about 2 months behind in posting recordings of satsangs.

March 5 satsang
We met in a room at Quaker Hall on 9th St, in San Fran, about 30 of us, and I was one of four to ask a question: how can we understand getting stuck in empty awareness or bliss, so that we can move into full awakening? I had first explained that I read his website www.johnbernie.org and liked what he wrote about the vastness of awareness encompassing thoughts, feelings, and body, whether negative or not, and how that relates to empty and fullness of bliss, and that people are attached to their bliss and not free; emptiness means no attachment but something missing. He asked me if I have been stuck in them, and I answered yes, but I'm lucky and not stuck now. John didn't have a piercing answer to my question, but shared a few pointers including being honest. The next questioner said "I'll key off the last question - I'm a bliss junkie." Most of the other people did emotional processing, in particular a woman who sobbed for most of her time. I sought to be respectful, affirming, and concise. This is an important opportunity to learn how to inquire, and will come in handy when I meet the great teachers.
April 9 gathering
Akemi didn't go as she falls asleep. I asked about the self inquiry group and a guy who shared that after 35 years of inquiry he didn't believe anybody to be awakened. Jon said he didn't know what to say, but "I'd like to meet him." That was cool. I saw through the levels of understanding and teaching, which is good, as it helps to recognize when, despite numerous well-known teachers and decades of awakened experience, monkhood, etc, there is a shallow bottom. There is a Big Heart though, as he calls it in his book "Ordinary Freedom," a publication that he autographed for me. Very clear, interesting, and simple, simple.
