Jac is another one of the British invasion of satsang-givers, along with Jeff Foster and Rupert Spira. She gave an intense Q and A, with a record number of deep inquiries
from seasoned dharma seekers on the spiritual journey. I quoted her statement from her interview in "Conversations on Nonduality: Twenty-six Awakenings" that she "sensed stepping out of the way was needed to avoid becoming a slave to the mind," and shared my own observation of getting out of the mind's way to let it write and inquire as a form of joy and inspiration, and that eventually it could be of service. She said don't be attached to service, just be selfish. I liked this answer until I brought up another inquiry, sharing my "heart story" as I had with Pamela Wilson and Dorothy Hunt. She set a trap by saying "tell me more," twice. I followed the instructions and then she said, and sharply, "listen to you, do you see how you are attached to this?" That was frustrating, so I took her into my inquiry on why awakened people teach, the "looking back" that is a hook of desire or attachment, and what keeps an awakened being in the body to teach. Another student had a similar line of inquiry. I referred to Buddha's teaching that the first word and teachings were flawed and erroneous, and to fight her repeated negations, I told her she was negating. She made the following comments to me and other dharma students: love is over-rated; compassion is over-stated, it is a concept grabbed by religion to control humanity; it's okay to hate; there are no levels, there is only awakening; when someone says they are awakened you will know it, you will smell it; let the vacuum take you.
It was a very clever and entertaining teaching by a cute and charismatic 26 yo, yet it was totally devoid of heart. My impression is that she is stuck in transcendence/empty awareness and not fully awakened.
1 satsang with dialog, interview in "Conversations on Non-Duality."
Wisdom: 7 (well thought-out but lacking basic knowledge about traditional teachings) , Heart: 2 (it would have been 0 except she encouraged dialog and made good effort to answer questions).
