My new site: www.finalduality.org

A new way to share the mystery of nonduality is by exploring the duality. My new website is Final Duality.

We can discriminate between words and thoughts, grasp at emptiness and fullness,
and open to the direct experience of that which is beyond all cognition and knowing. How can the end of words and concepts best be reached? There is a final concept to be understood, something graspable that will yield to that which is non-graspable.

THE FINAL DUALITY

This has been a theme throughout this blog, however it suddenly appears that it can be communicated concisely, use current English language words, and put into order many of the circular metaphors shared in spiritual discussions. Most importantly, the idea of a final duality may be effective in pointing the way to the unassailable wordless silence that is beyond all assertions.

In my experience of this moment and in many moments leading up to this, the realization of empty awareness is not nonduality, and the infinite love of the great heart is not nonduality. These are very real states that can be experienced one without the other, and therefore they create a duality.

What does history show? What did Buddha say about it, and what are hundreds of current teachers and masters teaching? I have nothing but respect for all of those who have given in service and love. But can we be impatient, even with a sense of fierceness, about those who mislead and place obstacles in the path of seekers and lost souls? How about those who teach from their experience of awakening yet lack capacare unable to grasp the highest possible cognition, or unable to transmit the infinite abundance of love from the great heart? None of these things can be said with certainty. One thing is certain for me however - the experience of this present moment, because it is not who I am, where I find myself, what I know, or what I have read or been taught.

It matters but it doesn't matter. It's been important who says what, how much wisdom this teacher shared, and how much love that guru gave. How we meditated, the sacrifices we made, and who we think we are have been important also. Our karma, our suffering, and our past lives have been important. Yet we have heard we must let go of all that, and then let go of whatever is left, and then let go again. How? we kept asking, and a thousand different answers came, and we tried them all, and we are still trying. Where is the end of the path, the boundary to freedom, and the reason for seeking? Could there be a final graspable place that once reached, gives way to that which is beyond all time, space, thought, feeling, even beyond absolute empty awareness and pure infinite love?

This is the place at the end of all paths, and the place of final conceptualization. This is the break through the last barrier to freedom, and where integration of heart and mind, love and wisdom, fullness and emptiness happen. This is the final duality.
